Landon's newborn and Lawson's 3 year pictures

We visited Cynthia Pace's studio to have a very special portrait session for Landon's newborn and Lawson's 3 year old pictures. Lawson's Birthday party

On January 10, we had Lawson's 3rd birthday party. He enjoyed bouncing and playing with all of his friends. We had a great time watching him and all of the kids have a blast! Thanks to all of our friends who helped to make the day special!

Here he is! 3 years old! He opened his gifts from Steven and I before school. He got a Tag junior reading set and a basketball goal, which he loves! You gotta love this look on his face showing off the goal! He had a little "party" at school and took cupcakes. That night, we had family over for dinner to celebrate. Lawson wore his birthday crown from school for dinner too!

This year Christmas was especially unique for us since we had a 4 day old baby! We scaled back our family gatherings, but had a wonderful christmas. We had christmas eve dinner in Aunt Mel's brand new home and enjoyed being with my immediate family. Christmas morning, of course Santa came, and Lawson was more excited than any other year. He was really into the santa thing this year. He anticipated it daily since we did the elf on the shelf this year. He wanted to be sure that Santa knew about his new brother, so with very little time to spare, Santa had to be sure that he had gifts too! We had Christmas dinner with my dad's family, but left little Landon with his grandmother for an hour or so, so that we could take Lawson to that gathering. Finally, our last stop was at GiGi's house. Lawson's final present from santa was left there and he got a battery powered ride on 4 wheeler. Do you know how fast 2 miles per hour seems to mom???
We were so blessed to have another wonderful christmas, and happy to have a new baby who was home, happy, and healthy!

Our sweetest Christmas Gift

The Mathis family received an early, and unexpected christmas gift. On December 21 at 12:21pm, our newest family member, Riley Landon decided to join us! Although early, he did great! He weighed in at 5lb 6oz and 19 inches. He was breathing great, feeding great! Suprisingly, he did so well that he got to come home with us on Dec. 23 and spend christmas with us! His big brother is so proud! He wants to hold him, feed him and kiss him!
