Our sweetest Christmas Gift

The Mathis family received an early, and unexpected christmas gift. On December 21 at 12:21pm, our newest family member, Riley Landon decided to join us! Although early, he did great! He weighed in at 5lb 6oz and 19 inches. He was breathing great, feeding great! Suprisingly, he did so well that he got to come home with us on Dec. 23 and spend christmas with us! His big brother is so proud! He wants to hold him, feed him and kiss him!

Preschool christmas program

December 15, Lawson had his first christmas program. The kids did a cute job, but the pics are not great because silly me thought that 30 minutes early would get us a good seat, and it didn't!! I've also got to say that if it were up to me he would be in a much cuter christmas outfit, but we were directed to dress the 2 yr olds in plain green shirts and dark pants, so I followed the rules!
In one of these, you would be able to see his face, but he's shaking the jingle bells in front of it!
Also, our friend Sophie got to come to see the program and she attempted to do the hand motions right along with the other kids, too cute!

Lawson visits Santa

This weekend, Lawson visited Santa. He was a little anxious, as you can see on his face. He did tell Santa that he wants trucks for christmas. He didn't explain this, but he has told us repeatedly that he wants 2 trucks, one for him and one for his brother, Landon. So sweet!
I tried a new Santa this year, but I've been super happy with the one I used the past 2 years, I think we'll go back to the other one next year.

Decorating our tree

These were taken one night this week before bed, when Lawson was helping me add the last few ornaments.

Thanksgiving

This was the first year that Lawson really understood thanksgiving. Thanks to the teachers at preschool, he understood it even better. The night before, we were talking about the next day and I asked him what he was thankful for. He quickly replied, "My mommy and daddy!" Man, priceless, what more could a parent want? In these pics, you'll see Lawson's thanksgiving outfit that his "Honey" made for him. Thanks Honey!

Halloween

On Halloween, it was such a hot day that we had to abandon the costume I bought, and my mom pieced together a cowboy outfit for Lawson. He only wore the hat a few minutes, and was not into posing. We did get a good pic of Sophie and Lawson in their matching shirts that mom made. Lawson enjoyed trick-or-treating with Sophie, Logan and Trent

Lawson's preschool halloween party and costume parade

The week of Halloween, Lawson had a costume parade and party to celebrate at school! I was excited to be one of the parents to help with the party, so I could see him in his classroom. You can see the jack-o-lantern project that was my assignment, and how perfectly Lawson did his with "no help!" It was very hard for us to get them all in one pic with the costumes, I think some are still missing, and Lawson is almost missing, over to the side, oh well!

Halloween Carnival

Lawson enjoyed the festivities at our church Halloween carnival. He had a great time doing the activities with one of his older church friends, Logan.
