Can he be a fan of more than one football team? Lawson's cousin Ben, a Penn State grad, is trying to make him a Nittany Lion. His blood still runneth orange, but we did let him wear his Penn State jersey for Uncle Ben! If you're wondering, his Left eye looks funny because he had a stye last week. Poor thing!

18 month appt-late!

I don't have new pictures, but did want to write a little update.
Yesterday Lawson had his check-up and is doing well. He weighs almost 29 lbs, and is 33 inches tall- around 75% for both. Good news, no more shots until age 4!! As everyone knows his speech is behind, but is picking up with speech therapy. He has learned lots of signs, and uses them well. Some are: more, want, please, thank-you, play, go, out, help, milk, eat, yes. He has added new sounds, and is making more babble than before. (They consider this progress too!) The only new consistently used word is bye-bye( he was just waving). We have heard him say Pop for my dad and ball, but he won't do them consistently. I think it's funny that I keep comparing him to Addie when I talk to the therapists, b/c her language is great for her age, but they keep telling me that females always talk more, no matter what age!
I've been trying to add a video of him playing ball, but am having trouble, we'll see if it ever gets on here!

Beach Videos

Mom finally got some video on here!

Last week, we experienced our first trip to the Outerbanks, NC. We stayed in Corolla. Lawson enjoyed the beach, especially the sand. I can't tell you how many of his body parts had sand all over them. I thought I'd never get it all out of his hair. He liked the water and waves only when they weren't so rough. He flew his first kite with his cousin, Kate. He also enjoyed being able to spend lots of time with someone close to his age. Aunt Mel and Byrd also went with us, and Lawson loved doing so much with them. We did take a break from the beach to visit the Wright Brothers memorial where he was able to climb onto one of the planes. He also went to the top of the Buckhouse lighthouse with us. You can see pics from the top. We didn't go to the Cape Hatteras lighthouse, Lawson was not allowed in that one. He also enjoyed his first game of put-put.

A special redneck note here, one of the beaches there allows you to drive your vehicle onto the beach(through the sand). We thought this would be nice since we could drive up and unpack all the stuff we had for the day, instead of hauling it ourselves. As we drive in, there is a big sign that says 4x4 vehicles only. Steven thinks we can make it anyway. Well, we get stuck and have to get wenched out. Hence, Lawson had his first "redneck experience" in the Outerbanks. Thought this one would give a lot of you a good laugh!!

Overall, it was a great week!

CDs, rattles and sleeping

Lawson has recently figured out how to play his CDs without help! Amazing! He also still loves his rattles, even though most of the other toys are more advanced. I also had to add the pic of how I find him almost every morning. So sweet!

I can drive boats too!

Yes, mom made me wear the life jacket on the boat!

On the fourth, we had lots of fun at the lake. Lawson enjoyed his first boat ride, "driving" the boat, and lots of watermelon!

Driving trucks and tractors

Lawson's new hobby is driving, already! He LOVES to "drive" cars, trucks, and especially tractors. Here are some pics!

Church suit!

We just had to show off this seersucker shorts suit, he was too cute!

Father's day

Since our computer has been down for a while I'm posting this very late! On father's day we enjoyed dinner with Lawson's father, my father, and my grandfather. Here are some pics of Lawson with all, and Aunt Mel that day.
